COHG Stuff - updated 10/28/98!

These materials are provided by the Central Oregon Heritage Group. The COHG database contains a skeletal version of the latest COHG MS-ACCESS database (Access 97, I think). All of the site locations have been anonymized. I have included Alissa's note to me: Eric, I have attached the user’s guide and the COHG database with some sample data in it. There is no data in some of the new fields we added to the database. We need to add more validation rules decide on forced entry, complete reports and canned queries. The database has been more geared to prehistoric data and we are working on developing a better historic component. The database fits on desktop area of 800 x 600 pixels or larger, it looks pretty bad on a desktop area 640 x 480. I will making a set of forms that fit a 640 x 480 desktop for an old PC here that will be needed for data entry. So, if you want a copy of the smaller forms let me know. The User's Guide

ARCSITE, COHG, and GENERAL ATTRIBUTES

These tables compare the ARCSITE, COHG, and general attribute recommendations from a national standards process (aka the Glorieta meeting see http://colby.uwyo.edu/FGDCNCPTTHOME.html for the report) for sites. I will add projects when complete. The point of this is to compare what is out there now, what we might want to be in the database side of an information system, and how these stack up against each other. Isaac Barner created the first draft of this useful product. Alissa DeVoney and I have added to his work on the site information tables. They are in Excel spreadsheets.

DRAFT STATEWIDE SITE FORM and INSTRUCTIONS -- NEW 11.10.98!

Kate Kirch writes: This is the first version of the SHPO Standard Site Form and accompanying User Guide draft. This form is the digital version of the 'hard copy' form that Paul Claeyssens circulated a few weeks ago. There are still a number of things to work out, such as the need for multiple site visit records, expanded code values for the entire state, a numbering scheme, etc. These will in the next few weeks so your thoughts, comments, etc. are welcome.

Many thanks to Paul and Alyssa DeVoney of COHG for providing the COHG database, digital forms and user guide as a starting point for this effort. Their contribution has undoubtedly saved us all many, many hours of effort!

Note: the Access file (SHPO DataForm.mdb) is Access 97. The User Guide is in MS Word 97. Please let me know if you are unable to read these files.

The files are available as a .ZIP archive (SHPOStdForm.zip 128k) containing both files. The individual files are also available in uncompressed format: the user guide (SHPOUser.DOC 121k) and MS-ACCESS file (SHPODataForm.MDB 808kb). For those lacking MS Word 97, we also have a Word6 version available (SHPOUSE6.DOC 75k)
