The Oregon State Cultural Database Advisory Group (OSCDAG) has been formed as a multi-agency effort to facilitate the development of an Internet-accessible statewide cultural resources database. This database will include both tabular and GIS data about cultural resources for the state of Oregon. The goals of this effort are to:
· develop common definitions for basic cultural resource data across agencies,
· enhance access to important cultural resource information for a wide variety of users, including federal, state , tribal, county and municipal agencies, universities, consulting firms and the public at large,
· implement appropriate security mechanisms to control access to sensitive cultural resource information, and
· establish standards for adding and maintaining cultural resource information in the statewide database.
